04Report

We run the simulation and send you a report

Once a submission is in, every position in it is compared against every other, and the result comes back as a report. The central figures are always differences between your own positions — never isolated numbers.

What the report contains

Every position you submitted, ranked by aerodynamic drag, and what the gaps between them are worth in watts at realistic riding speeds — a difference matters far more at 45 km/h than at 30.

Observations about what actually changed between the positions, so the number is attached to something you can act on.

Why a comparison, not a score

An isolated drag figure is hard to act on and easy to misread, because it depends on assumptions about equipment, clothing and conditions. Comparing your own photographs against each other, taken under identical conditions, cancels most of that out — which is why WattCut is built around comparisons rather than scores.

During early access

WattCut is a developing simulation platform, and early access is how we find out which comparisons riders actually want. Joining is free; simulations are bought as a pack when you want one. Parts of an analysis may be completed manually, and submitting images does not guarantee an immediate analysis.

What the comparison looks like

Drag area for each position, and what the gaps between them are worth in watts across the speeds you actually ride. Aerodynamic power rises with the cube of speed, so the same change is worth far more at 50 km/h than at 25.
